Fireworks stores will be seen popping up around the city a few weeks before Independence Day, July 4th. That is the only day the public and residents in certain cities are permitted to purchase and play with fireworks legally. Most of these stores are temporary stores formed by a big rig container (must be hot inside).
Hubby is always a fan of fireworks. Not me though. I prefer to watch then lighting them. I always tell him, playing with fireworks is dangerous, especially in our dry Southern California weather. There was one year, only ONE year, I had allowed him to purchase this giant multi packs of fireworks. Most of these are ground fireworks, no flying up to the sky as those needs another type of permit to display them.
As you can see from the picture, the price we paid for this pack was $39.99 plus tax, for fireworks worth $60 if purchased separately. He sure had so much fun that year. We waited until the sunset, which was around 8:45pm (daylight saving time) so we could see the full effect of the fireworks in the dark. Our neighbor across the street saw the fireworks and brought our his lawn chair and saw in his front yard to watch the display. It took us about an hour plus to finish up all the fireworks. There are small ones and large tubes too. The longest fireworks lasted for about 2.5 minutes. We sure had a great July 4th that year.
