Shrek The Third just came back a few weeks ago. We bought the DVD from Walmart because we missed it when it was showing in the theater. Dvds usually are on sale their first week of release. We paid $14.99 for the wide screen version of this movie.

If you had followed this series, you probably already know the main casts remain the same – Shrek, Fiona, Donkey (plus a few of his little flying dragon donkeys), Pus and the rest from the gang from the swamp.  The movie is 1hr 32 minutes long.  If you are interested to read the spoiler, here it is:

In this movie, Fiona’s dad, the King of Far Far Away passed on and Shrek has to take over the kingdom.  However, he was not fit to be a King, so he, determined to find the rightful heir to the throne – Arthur.  With the help of Pus and Donkey, they sailed away to look for him.  While this was happening the bad guys from the land lead by Prince Charming attacked and took the thrown of Far Far Away.  They locked the princesses away in a tower. 

By the way, did I mention that Fiona is pregnant too?  Shrek was nervous to become a father and wasn’t really looking forward to it.  But at the end, he found the fatherly love between him and Arthur and was able to accept that he would soon become a father himself. 

Shrek was captured by Charming when he went back to the palace with Arthur.  Shrek didn’t want Arthur to get hurt so he acted mean to him  and told him he was lying on all the things he said about Arthur is becoming the King.  But in the end again, Arthur came back and saved Shrek from being killed by the bad guys. 

The movie ends with Shrek back in the swamp happily living with his wife, Fiona and his three wonderful kids.
