My son is approaching 2 years old and I wanted him to start feeding himself. I saw a friend’s son using a self feeding bowl that has a suction base to secure the dish from moving around while feeding himself. I thought this is a great idea so I went out to look for this item.
There is a similar item at Target with suction base but it was a plate instead of a bowl. I would prefer to get a bowl and I went to check at Babies ‘R’ Us one weekend and found the above, Especially for Baby Feeding Bowl. I bought a green color, they have many other colors – blue, purple and pink. It comes with a good size plastic bowl with a suction base as well as a snap on cover for easy storage. It only cost $2.79 plus sales tax.
Immediately I tried it after I came home. I rinsed the bowl with warm soapy water and let it dried. Happily, I cooked some rice dish, and wanted to start him on self feeding but the suction base just doesnt’ stick down to the table or his high chair’s tray. The instruction did say to moisten the suction ring but that didn’t help either. I tried on glass, wood, plastic … all types of surfaces but it doesn’t stay, the suction ring would release itself from the surface a few seconds after being pressed down completely. The bowl doesn’t stay.
What I did today was I returned the item to BBRU. I asked the customer service is anyone else complained about this issue but she said she didn’t know. May be I got a defect one. Will get another next time to try again.

You did not make an exchange????
Nope, didn’t do exchange. It is easier to return and rebuy.
