When you are having a new hobby, you must need the right tools to go with it. When I signed up for the Wilton Cake Decorating Course 1 class at Joann, I wasn’t expecting to buy so many tools and stuff. I thought I would just attend the class and learn the theory of cake decorating. Never did I know that the week after the first class I would have invested more than I was expecting.

Wah… no wonder the class so cheap!! They make u spend on all the extras! Hey, if u sign up for Joann’s mailing list, u’ll get a 40% off coupon every month. That’s how I get my baking supplies.
40% on one item only … still not enough! Unless I was another month to buy the second item. hahaha … ya … they can actually offer free class and then ask you to buy all these stuff from their store.

your sharing of your above experience has given me
an insight which is timely. i am interested to take up baking and decorating as a hobby in the very near future. guess i need todevelop a channel of activity and has thought of this as a hobby or who knows, into a home enterprise. i can claim that i am able to do simple baking within a family environment but am game to learn from a proper source. i’m really impressed with wilton’s style of decorating and even from what i’ve browsed so far, the colors and flowers or whatever are so sweet and pretty. wht then is your recommendation whereby i could meet my personnal objective? what are the avenues whereby i could move move towards it from the basic without incurring too much of cost to develop my interest gradually but within a resonable time frame. ofcourse i’m not expecting to be a pro. hope you can just give me your personnal recommendation for a first time starter. i’m from pj and will be good if i can participate in this learning from a school within pj. sincerely and truly look forward to hear from you. warmest regards.

Here in malaysia, both classes & tools are expensive!..:(
True, that’s why sometimes my Malaysia friend would ask for help to get something for her from the Joann’s store here and mail the items back to her.
