Our staple food – rice, price is going up. Already went up about 50%. My MIL told me when she bought a bag of 50 pounds rice it was around $22, a month back. Used to be around $20. And when I bought me 25 pounds Jasmine rice imported from Thailand a few months ago it was only $11.95. Now the price of a 5o pounds bag is $30!
I watched the news this morning and rice price may go up 131%. After all the increase in gas prices, we are seeing inflation in our groceries. Egg and dairy prices already increased. Bread has went up almost 30%. We can no longer find 3 pounds of banana for under a dollar. My my … inflation is soon to be here.

from 11.35 to 30 is a lot of increase.
i buy jasmine (thai) 10kg for abt AU$14 i think.
bananas are AU$1.99 at its cheapest but usually around AU$2.40+
