I was planning to travel when I called my cellphone provider to get the unlock code.  I was give the NCK number and instruction to unlock.  Here was what I did:

1. Turn off cell phone, remove original sim card.
2. Insert sim card from oversea.
3. Turn on cell phone.
4. Despite the error message, press left arrow key x 1
5. Press * x 2 (twice)
6. Press left arrow key x 1
7. Indicate IMEI lock display. 
8. In 3 seconds or less, it will display NETWORK with a lock sign.
9. Click Yes.
10. Asked if want to unlock, click Yes again.
11. Enter the NCK number that was provided to you by your cell provider.
12. Then press OK/Yes.
13. Network will display unlock and you will be able to use the phone with the other network.
