Since my boy was born, I’ve been using Phillips Avent Baby Bottle. And we upgraded the bottle to size 9oz when he turned 9 months old. We have been using the same bottles since then till now. Then the recent news saying that baby bottles are made out of polycarbonate and may contain BPA - bisphenol A , which is an estrogen mimic and could affect the developing brain, and prostate and mammary glands. There are other baby bottle in the market that is BPA free but we are so used to Avent bottles and we didn’t want to change.
I only realized that Avent also came out with BPA FREE bottle just two weeks ago when I saw the Target flyer advertising it for $17.49 on sale for a box of 2 bottles (all sizes). If buy two boxes Target will give out a $5 gift card. However, we only need 2 bottles the maximum. One bottle was selling on sale for $8.99. Then I saw a coupon for $2 off if we buy 2 bottles box. So I bought the box of Phillips Avent BPA Free Baby Bottle 9oz/260ml with two bottles for $17.49 minus the $2 coupon, total came out to be $15.49 plus sales tax. Besides the bottles, we also bought two replacement extra soft slow flow silicone nipple size 6 months+ for $4.04 plus sales tax.
The only different I noticed on these new bottles are the slight honey tint on the bottle. They are manufactured from polyethersulfone (PES) a naturally honey-colored tint, instead of polycarbonate which contains BPA. The box actually came with two extra soft slow flow silicone nipple but they are of size 2.

Yes, this are the new BPA Free bottles just came out not long ago. They are more expensive but as long as is BPA Free I don’t mind paying a little xtra. Do they have this new ones there yet?

You’re so lucky you can get them easily. I couldn’t find ANY in Malaysia or China and my boy rejects the MAM bottles I got

Do you have problems using Avent BPA free bottles? I read that it leaks.
It depends. I have problem where it leaks from the cap area and it was annoying. So one time, I called AVENT to ask why. They told me to wet the bottom of the nipple then attach it to the cap to seal the any air gap. And since then I experience a lot less leak than before.

I don’t think you can get it in Malaysia yet. You can try it at Jusco to see if they carry it. Or you can try contacting the Avent agents in Malaysia to find out if they are available there. If you want, I can help you get it from here and ship them over. But the cost of shipping might be expensive.
