Shower Filter a must

A shower filter is a must for all household, especially if you have a little one at home. Let me tell you why I think so. Before I came to USA, my skin is always smooth and well moistured. But since I moved and lived in Los Angeles permanently for the last 10 years, my skin is getting drier and drier. I had to apply more and more body lotion, moisturizer, oil … all types of different remedies to help my dry skin.

I knew a long time ago that the water supply here in SoCal consists of hard water with a lot of different types of minerals. But I didn’t know that it is bad for the us until I watched Dr. Oz on Oprah. He explained that when we take a warm/hot shower, the pores on our skin actually open up and absord whatever there is in the water including chlorine, heavy metals, and other contaminants in our water supply. And don’t think about taking a bath with water that come right out from the tap without filtration. Bath is even worse than a shower. And most babies/toddler takes bath till they are older. So if you have a young one at home, really consider installing a shower filter as soon as you can.

Fortunately we do have a water filter for drinking water but we didn’t have a shower filter which after watching the show, I think I highly recommend it for all house hold to have it, unless you already have a whole house carbon-based water filtration system. Or else get a simple one like this for your shower. This is the Aquasana® Deluxe Shower Filter. It is easy to install and it works by filtering out the contaminants in the water mainly chlorine and the heavy metals. It cost around $70. You may be able to find it cheaper online with free shipping too.
